As individuals we should be remembered for the joy we brought to others and praised for what we accomplished in this life. After losing a loved one, the haze takes over, the sadness prevails, and so many thoughts remain. For over a decade, I’ve written about death and loss and the coping process for those who’re left behind.
In the last four years, I’ve lost both my grandmothers, three very close friends, and my younger sister. Since these tragedies, I’ve decided to help others with writing a eulogy, elegy, dedication, or obituary, to focus on the important details. Those who’ve passed away should be memorialized in a fitting way, at their funeral or celebration of life. The comfort and closure that a well-crafted, personalized memoriam piece brings can last for years to come. I’ve created detailed questionnaires which prompt various responses and help make up the content for each piece. I use the same process for obituary writing as well.
The loss of a loved one is final, but the dedication to their life is forever.

PRICING
For Planned or More Extensive Projects:
If there is more time to prepare, the writing process can be more in-depth. Your family will receive the same level of attention I’ve given to my own. I conduct interviews and research to create authentic and individualistic pieces. We will work together to compile all the information you’d like me to work with.
For larger projects: Initial phone consultations and any interviews needed
$30.00 per 30 minutes
$60.00 per hour
Projects 5 pages or more are priced at $25 per page, which includes 3 drafts (listed in detail below).
For Shorter Pieces
A 500 word obituary is $200, for a 1 hour phone discussion and 3 drafts.
If you already have a eulogy or obituary written and just need an editor’s eye, provide me with a draft and I’m happy to help perfect it to your liking.
The majority of the content will come from filling out an extensive questionnaire at your leisure. The first draft is completed based on your responses. The first draft is considered a developmental edit at $.12 per word. If any subsequent drafts are needed, they will be considered a line edit at $.10 per word, and then proofreading at $.07 per word.
Phone discussions for memoriam pieces are 1 hour, and include a background interview. We can chat anytime you’d like, depending on your schedule, time zone, and when you work best.
For any other accommodations, feel free to contact me directly.
